Boko Haram invades Gwoza in Borno state

Boko Haram insurgents on Monday, April 26, evening invaded Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state shooting sporadically as residents flee into the mountains for safety.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that security agencies were able to repel the attack, causing the insurgents to retreat.

Gwoza is the home town of Senator Representing Borno South, Ali Ndume who is also the Chairman senate committee on the army.

Senator Ndume confirmed the attack to Vanguard.

He told the publication that a “group of armed insurgents are currently attacking my home town Gwoza”.
