Tension gripped Kachia town, headquarters of Kachia Local Government Area after one Abba Muhammad allegedly stabbed one Hamidu Nura to death.
It was gathered that breakdown of law and order was averted in the community as irate mob attacked the alleged killer.
The Commissioner for Internal Security, Samuel Aruwan, who disclosed this in a statement said an irate mob mobilized themselves and captured Abba Muhammad.
According to him, Muhammad died after he was attacked with knives, clubs and other dangerous weapons.
Aruwan confirmed the situation is being investigated by security agencies.
The commissioner assured that the safety of lives and property of the people remains paramount.
