Iheanacho provides reason for fight between Leicester, Chelsea players during 2-1 defeat

Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has explained the reason behind the fight between his teammates and Chelsea players towards the end of their Premier League match on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.

One of the talking points of the encounter, which saw the Blues climbed above the Foxes in the table after the 2-1 win was in injury time when a fight broke out between the Blues stars and Leicester City players.

It all began when Antonio Rudiger reacted to Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira’s late challenge on Ben Chilwell.

The Nigerian striker explained that he was only trying to calm things down by acting as peacemaker as tempers boiled over.

“Antonio Rudiger went aggressively on Ricardo Pereira and that is what caused the fight. I was telling him to calm down,” Iheanacho told Sky Sports.

Iheanacho came off the bench to score his 12th league goals and nineteen in all competitions.

The striker made history after scoring against Chelsea on Tuesday night, May 18, as the first Premier League striker to score on all seven days of the week in a single season.
