One feared dead as Okada riders, Police clash in Lagos

A yet-to-be-identified commercial motorcyclist has reportedly lost his live on Monday during a clash involving Policemen and commercial motorcycle operators popularly called ‘Okada riders’.

It was gathered that the death of the okada rider which occurred at about 2pm caused an irate mob to set a building ablaze.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyuwa Adejobi , who confirmed the incident said additional policemen have been deployed to the area to restore normalcy.

Adejobi said the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

“The command wishes to debunk the rumour that Ile Epo Police Station was set ablaze by the hoodlums. This news is false and should be disregarded”, he added.
