Biafra: Wike reveals why IPOB cannot give sit-at-home order in Rivers

Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has revealed the reason why the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) cannot give a sit-at-home order to the people of his state.

Wike stated that IPOB cannot give sit-at-home order to Rivers residents because they are not part of South-East.

The governor said this while during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday.

He reiterated that IPOB doesn’t exist in Rivers state.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful had said that human and vehicular movements would be restricted across the South-East on Monday to mark the 54th anniversary of Biafra.

Wike said “IPOB cannot make an order for people to sit at home in Rivers State. I have said so clearly before because it doesn’t exist in Rivers State.

“Rivers State is not part of South-East. Rivers State is South-South, we’re in the Niger Delta.

“I’m not saying whether the people in the South-East shouldn’t obey what IPOB has said or not. But they cannot give orders to Rivers people to sit at home.”
