Gunmen set Imo council chairman’s home on fire

Gunmen on Sunday gazed the house of council chairman of Owerri West Local Government Area, Willy Egbo at Ubulu – Ihejiofor area of Imo state.

Eyewitnesses told The Sun that the gunmen struck at about 1am, shooting sporadically at that hour and sending most of the villagers scampering for safety inside nearby bushes.

After setting the house of Imo State Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba on fire, they reportedly proceeded to the council chairman’s house, Honourable Willy Egbo at Nnepi and also razed the building.

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that gunmen broke down Chief Emelumba gate and set the house on fire without any hindrance, destroying all the property in the Commissioner’s residence.

Chief Emelumba confirmed the incident himself after the attack.
