Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central at the 8th National Assembly, has lashed out at the coalition of 75 Northern groups under the aegis of Northern Consensus Movement for declaring the supreme leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wanted and placing a N100 million bounty on him.

Senator Sani stated that the group should have channeled their efforts towards ending the terrorism and banditry currently ravaging the northern region.

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that the Northern groups on Thursday declared Kanu wanted and the Eastern Security Network (IPOB’s militia wing) for masterminding the recent spate of attacks on Northern communities in the South-East via what they called ‘hate speech’.

Dr. Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, who spoke on behalf of the coalition, said they Kanu to answer for the killing and destruction of Northerners residing and undertaking lawful businesses in the southeastern part of Nigeria.

Reacting to the N100m placed on the IPOB leader, the former lawmaker made the remark on Friday in a post on his official Facebook page.

“We have terrorists and bandits here up north, killing and kidnapping our people; why not the Northern groups place a price tag on the heads of their leaders instead of placing them on someone far abroad,” he said.
