Oyetola frustrating plans to grow Osun – Hon. Bamidele Salam

Hon. Bamidele Salam, a federal lawmaker has blasted the executive governor of Osun state, Gboyega Oyetola following his cold attitude to opposition leaders in the state.

The federal lawmaker also accused the governor of frustrating developmental plans to grow the economy of the state owing to his inability to differentiate between politics and governance.

This was made known by the honorable representing Ejigbo, Egbedore, Ede North and Ede South Federal Constituency at the first edition of monthly media parley organised by Osun Online Media Practitioners in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state.

The federal lawmaker said he has met with his colleagues especially head of concerned committees and they have discussed at length on ways to revive and boost the productivity of Ede Cocoa Processing Factory but the inputs of the state government is also a necessity.

But the state governor is frustrating our efforts owing to his inability to differentiate politics from governance. He does not attend to calls from opposition leaders neither does he give us the needed attention to contribute our quota to the development of the state, Bamidele Salam added.

Lamenting the deplorable state of proposed Ido-Osun airport situated in his federal constituency, the federal lawmaker disclosed that he has also sought the attention of relevant committees at the national assembly, seeking possible ways to fix it but all these attempts need the inclusion and inputs of the state government.

Ido-Osun International Airport is one of the proposed project which gulped billions of naira initiated by the former governor of the state now Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

Salam also disclosed that the state government is not interested in his developmental steps because he is a member of the main opposition party in the state.

According to the former chairman of Egbedore Local Government, state lawmakers who are in the opposition have also complained bitterly about the cold attitude and disrespect to their offices.

Bamidele Salam added that the current speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye who was the minority leader of the state assembly during Oyinlola led administration can attest that Governor Oyinlola never treated elected opposition leaders with disdain.
