Gov Umahi orders autopsy on Ebonyi Commissioner Nweze

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has ordered that an autopsy be carried out on the late Commissioner for Infrastructure Development, Fidelis Nweze who died on Tuesday in an Abuja hospital.

He stated this at the three-day intercessory prayer-themed “God Protect Our Dear State and Leaders…”

The Prayer session organised in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ebonyi State chapter held at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki.

The prayer was organised following the death of Nweze and Uche Okah, the then Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development.

The prayer session, which began yesterday, will end on Saturday, June 25, 2021.

Governor David Umahi, during the prayers, thanked CAN for the partnership and expressed hope that with the prayers, the pains would be assuaged.

He ordered for investigation into the death of Mr Nweze.

He said: “We want to thank you very much and to let you know that the prayers are working perfectly well. The three most strategic people working on the ring road and making it effective are Uche, Nweze and Chioma (SSA Investment). We will accomplish the Ring road and all our projects in the state. I believe in your prayers, I have faith in your prayers.

“We have directed autopsy on him, we have also directed that the driver and Orderly should go to the Commissioner of Police and make their statements.”

“Nweze and Uche, they are irreplaceable and I am saying it with all sense of sincerity. Two of them are destiny helpers to me, while we live, let us live well.”

He announced that the state government would take over all their outstanding projects and make sure that all their children would attain university education under the sponsorship of the state government.

The governor said the late Nweze was a man of great humility, describing him as the best Commissioner and the best manager of resources.

“Nweze made maximum merchandise of those who would have become criminals, Nweze was raising wonderful Engineers.

“Life is a gratuitous fragile gift of God. God is all-knowing; no one would have created the world except him. The knowledge of God is good and God knows the end from the beginning.”
