There was palpable tension at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, on Monday, July 12, following a protest by the taxi drivers in the Federal Capital Territory over the activities of Vehicle Inspection Office, VIO.
The protesters alleged that the officials of the VIO have allegedly continued to harass and collect illegal levies from them.
WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the Union leaders are preventing taxi drivers from operating by stopping their vehicles and telling their passengers to alight.
Details of the incident are still sketchy as of press time.
