The decomposing corpse of an unidentified lady has been discovered on Wednesday by passersby around the Federal University Junction of the East-West Road in Delta state.
It was gathered that the corpse was lying face down inside a drainage system connected to the Agbarho River.
According to witnesses, it appeared the victim was killed before she was dumped in the drain.
Other sources claimed that she might have been knocked down by a vehicle.
The acting state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident told journalists that the lady could be a victim of a hit-and-run driver.
Edafe said, “The corpse is already decomposing. So, we contacted the local government authorities, while investigation is ongoing.”
