EFCC Breaks Silence On Why They Can’t Arrest Abba Kyari Despite FBI’s Request

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has contacted them and has also launched a request that CP, Abba Kyari, be arrested.

But the anti-graft agency (EFCC) responded that the case was not within the capacity of the EFCC but for the police to handle. In other words, only the police can handle the issue of Abba Kyari’s arrest.

Abba Kyari had been indicted by a serial internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas (Hushpuppi) regarding a $1.1m internet fraud. The CP was said to have helped Hushpuppi Jailed his rival, Kelly Chibuzor Vincent, a service that came with a reward for Abba Kyari.

However, the CP in a post on Facebook debunked the claims and tagged the report as fake news. Abba Kyari maintained that he didn’t accept a dime from the internet Fraudster, but the evidence presented by the US court states otherwise.

The United States Court has since issued an arrest warrant for Kyari, but the EFCC, believed to be in charge of handling financial crimes, claims that Abba Kyari’s case is not within their capacity.

“FBI has contacted EFCC and asked that we arrest Abba Kyari, but we told them that it was a police matter,” the source in the EFCC said.
