Chaos in Imo as gunmen behead community leader, 5 others, set properties ablaze in Orlu

Violence has been unleashed in Okporo and Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, as gunmen reportedly storm the village, beheads community leader and five others, raze about 20 houses and more than 10 vehicles.

According to reports, these attacks began Sunday night and continued till Monday morning.

The exact reason for these violent attacks are still unknown but residents have suspected the hardened criminal gang and native doctors who carry out their heinous operations in the night.

The community leader, whose identity is still unknown was gruesomely beheaded and his head was displayed on a table in the market in Okporo community, Imo State.

These criminals have also beheaded not less than 5 persons in the Orlu area since this violence started.

According to reports, about 20 shops and more than 10 cars and two trucks have been burnt down completely.

A shop where caskets are sold was also razed down by the gunmen.

A source lamenting the security crisis being witnessed in the area has called on the government to provide security operatives to rid the towns of these criminals.

“Even this Monday morning we heard of strange movement by these men in Okporo community and people started running…

“These criminals started with the beheading of our community leader and now burning people’s homes what do they want

“When will all these attacks we are suffering in Orlu local government, please send security operatives to help end these attacks,” he says.
