4 killed as gunmen abduct 50 others in Zamfara community

Gunmen who abducted 50 people in Goran Namaye town in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara have reportedly killed four people.

The attack was confirmed on Monday, August 23 by the Zamfara state police command.

According to the police, the attackers invaded the town around midnight on Sunday August 22, in large numbers.

Zamfara state police Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu added that the police tactical operatives had been deployed to the area.

The state commissioner of police, Yakubu Elkana has ordered immediate search and rescue operations for the victims, while urging residents of the state to be calm as there is an ongoing effort to bring the kidnappers to justice.
