S/East losing billions over IPOB’S sit-at-home – Orji Kalu laments

Sen. Orji Kalu, the Chief Whip of the Senate, has said that the sit-at-home in the South-East, ordered by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is being counter-productive.

Kalu, who made this known during an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, said that it is not the right thing to do adding that it would promote hardship.

According to him, billions of naira are being lost due to the self-imposed lockdown in the South-East.

“I don’t support this sit-at-home, because each day they do so, billions of naira is lost.

”Also, there are families that the only money they make is on a daily therefore any day they don’t make daily money, they don’t feed.

”So, in all honesty, I don’t think this is the right time for our people to do this because you cannot punish the same people you say you want to protect,’’ Kalu said.
