Nigeria records 138 new cases of COVID-19 in six states and FCT

As at the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 138 new cases of the deadly disease in six states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Saturday, October 2.

According to the NCDC’s report, the FCT topped the COVID-19 infection chart with 51 new cases, followed by Anambra and Lagos with 28 and 24 positive samples, respectively.

Other states with new infections include Benue (18), Plateau (9), Kaduna (7), Jigawa (1).

There were no additional fatalities on Saturday. The coronavirus death toll in the country still stands at 2,723.

Also, 95 people were discharged on Saturday after recovering from the infection.

With the new figure, a total of 193,893 patients have so far recovered from COVID-19 in Nigeria.
