Nasarawa police arrest three suspected cultists

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested three suspected cultists who had been terrorising residents of Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

According to PUNCH, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, who disclosed this on Saturday in Lafia, said the suspected cultists, led by one Timothy Ishaya, a 21-year-old man, had been on the wanted list of the Police for constantly terrorising and disturbing the peace of residents of the area.

ASP Nansel said; “While intensifying search for cultists who had been on the wanted list of the command’s anti-cultism unit for a series of criminal activities in Akwanga LGA, Police operatives attached to the Akwanga division raided a notorious criminal hideout called Kotto, where three suspected cultists were arrested.

“One axe, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, two necklaces with occultic pendants and a calabash filled with charms were recovered from them as exhibits.”

The Police spokesman said that the suspects have been charged to court.
