Four soldiers were killed on Tuesday in Ngamdu, Borno State, while resisting an attack by the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The border town is located between Borno’s and Yobe State’s borders.

Terrorists shot an officer, who was transported to a military medical center and is now recovering.

While the troops engaged the fighters in their armored vehicles and gun trucks, others slipped into the military installation of Super Camp.

The assailants then fired randomly, striking the injured commander in command of the soldiers.

“Unfortunately, four soldiers shot by the terrorists died. The officer who attempted to protect them sustained injuries but is in a stable condition”, a military source told PRNigeria.

The soldiers eventually repelled the attack with aerial support by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
