APGA chairman: Insecurity in Anambra caused by mischief makers

National chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Oye has stated that mischief makers are behind the recent attacks in Anambra.

This was stated on Thursday by Oye during an interview on Channels Television.

Anambra recently has witnessed a series of violent attacks, leading to killings, kidnappong and destruction.

Owing to the violence in the state, the federal government had threatened to declare a state of emergency – a move that has been rejected by the state government and some socio-political organisations.

Speaking on the development, the APGA national chairman said the state is known for being the safest in the country, adding that those causing trouble need to have a rethink.

“In Anambra state, the real voters are with the party. Those that will cast the votes are the grassroots — the market women, the church people and the youths. They are with APGA, because the party has delivered the dividends of democracy,” he said.

“Workers are paid on every 25th and 27th of the month and pensioners are paid first-line charge. The government is working. There is security. The insecurity you are witnessing today was created by mischief makers to truncate the forthcoming election.

“Anambra state is known as the safest state in Nigeria; that record is there. Those causing confusion in the state know that there is a need for us to live in peace and harmony, because if you cause crisis in the state, it will affect you, affect your family directly or indirectly

“All of us have relations; they all live in Anambra state. Can’t we work together and stick together?”

He also expressed optimism that the party will win the governorship election.

“We are not going to lose. The word of God is what I stand on. It says my word will not go out and return void without fulfilling the purpose for which it is sent,” he added.

“This party is built on God; no force on earth will destroy it. The November 6 election will be won by APGA and it is going to be a landslide victory.”
