Gunmen kill Gombe hunters’ commander, governor mourns

The commander of a local hunter group, Bello Maiduna, who was killed by unknown gunmen in Katah-Kamo village, Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe state has been described as a patriotic Nigerian who paid the supreme price fighting against banditry and other forms of criminality in the state.

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya’s delegation on Saturday, which included Commissioner for Information and Culture, Julius Ishaya; Special Advisers on Health and Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Commissioner for Internal Security and Ethical Orientation, Adamu Dishi-Kupto, said the governor was saddened by the occurrence.

The delegation on arrival was received by the District Head of Kamo, Nuhu Adamu, who lauded the governor and the state government for identifying with them at the difficult time.

The commissioner, who expressed government’s grief over the death of Bello Maiduna, said the government would continue to support the family in appreciation of his contribution to peace in the state and beyond.
