Cross River lawmaker, Elizabeth Ironbar is dead

Lady Elizabeth Edem Ironbar, a two-term member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, has passed away.

Mrs. Ironbar died in the late hours of Tuesday, October 26, following a long illness, according to family sources.

Ironbar who has represented Akpabuyo constituency since June 2015 is known for her Cross River State Disability Commission bill.

According to CrossRiverWatch, she was among the lawmakers who refused to defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC, alongside other members who followed Governor Ben Ayade.

In other news,the Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has reserved its decision on a motion filed by the former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, praying the court for an order suspending the party’s convention scheduled for Saturday.

The court, after listening to the submissions of the parties to the case, fixed October 28, to hear and rule on the motion for an interim order.
