Woman dies, five children injured in Jigawa motor accident

Fatima Muhammad Wakil, a 40-year-old woman, has died in a motor accident in Ringim Local Government area, Jigawa State.

According to a report by Daily Post, the incident happened Monday at Jauga village, along Chai-Chai-Ringim road when the driver lost control and rammed into a bush.

ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, confirmed the incident.

He said the accident happened yesterday at Jauga village when one Fatima Muhammad Wakil was driving a Mercedes Benz, blue in colour, with Reg no. ABC 559 TZ from Dutse heading to Katsina State with her five children.

He explained that on reaching Jauga village in Ringim, she lost control, diverted off-road and hit a tree.

Shiisu said all the six victims were evacuated and rushed to Ringim General Hospital for treatment.

He said later, the driver (Fatima) died while receiving treatment, while her five children were referred to Rasheed Shakoni Teaching Hospital Dutse for further treatment.
