Anambra Election: Kogi Police Commissioner Opens up on Personnel Paying N10,000 as Transport Fare

Idrisu Dauda Dabban, Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, has denied an online media claim that the command requested its personnel to pay N10,000 as transport fee to transport officers to the Anambra election this Saturday.

The report is not only a figment of the author’s imagination, but completely false, malicious, and highly mischievous, DSP William Ovye Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kogi State said in a statement provided to newsmen on Wednesday by

“The Command did not request for any amount of money as transport fare from Officers deployed for the assignment.

“The Commissioner of Police, while addressing the officers deployed for the election stated that, the police authority is responsible for the transportation of its personnel to and fro to Anambra State. The Command is surprised at the false and unfounded report on social media.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police urged the public to discountenance such mischievous information, while ordering the Deputy Commissioner of Police Investigation to commence investigation into the alleged extortions,” he said.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the Anambra election is slated for November 6th 2021.
