Adeyanju appeals to EFCC to release or charge Obi Cubana to court

Popular activist and socio-political commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has reached out to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over the arrest of billionaire businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, AKA Obi Cubana.

The activist beckoned on EFCC to charge Obi Cubana to court or release him.

Recall that Cubana, the nightlife king was arrested on Monday for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

The entrepreneur had arrived at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters in Jabi, Abuja around noon on Monday.

It was gathered that investigators asked Obi Cubana to provide two sureties who must be Federal Directors before he will be released.

Obi Cubana’s popularity doubled after the July burial of his mother in Afor Uzo. It is suspected that the EFCC paid more attention to him after the high-octane event.

Reacting to his continued detention, Adeyanju said EFCC should release Cubana and go after Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a tweet, Adeyanju wrote: “Obi Cubana to spend 3rd night in EFCC custody. Charge him to Court or release him. More importantly, go and arrest Tinubu.”
