The Nigerian military on Tuesday killed Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) members in Borno State in a gun fight that lasted hours.

The clash with sect members occurred in the Mafa Local Government Area’s Ngwom village.

At around 6:50 p.m., the terrorists entered the area in six weapons trucks via a livestock crossing point in Mafa.

According to the military, ISWAP was on a mission to target its formation within the town.

According to an intelligence official, men from the 195 Battalion Operation Hadin Kai in Jere have been mobilized to meet the enemy.
“We have counted four corpses of the invaders and still pursuing others using the track of blood in the bush.

“After our clearance operation on their escape routes, detailed updates can be provided,” the source added.
