Jigawa State police have arrested Adamu Garba, 70, and Haruna Musa, 35, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
ASP Lawan Shiisu Ahmad, a police spokesman, made the announcement in a press release to journalists.
He stated that the arrest was predicated on a police report on 15/11/2021 at around 1230hrs from one Aminu Sule of Gangare Qtrs B/Kudu LGA, who stated that on the same date at approximately 1030hrs, he observed his grandmother’s husband having a carnal knowledge with his younger sister.
Shiisu stated that throughout the course of the investigation, the victim also stated that while she was hawking fried yam, one Haruna Musa called her into his house, pretending to be buying yam, and forced sexual intercourse with her.
He stated that the victim was transferred to the sexual assault referral center Dutse for medical evaluation, and that the suspects were apprehended.
According to a police official, the investigation is ongoing and they will be charged in court.
