The Kaduna State Government has announced the restoration of telecommunication networks in parts of the state initially shut down since the beginning of October.

The Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan told newsmen in Kaduna on Friday that, “Security agencies have notified the government that telecom services can be restored.”

Telecoms networks had been shut down in the state in a bid to control banditry and other insecurity issues in the state.

According to Aruwan, the shutdown of the telecommunication network recorded a lot of success.

The Commissioner assured residents that restoration of full services would be felt over the next few days.

He added, “The Kaduna government regrets inconveniences that residents may have passed through.”

Aruwan explained that other measures like the prohibition of movement of motorcycles all over the state, sale of fuel in Jerry cans, weekly markets, and others in some local government areas remain in place.
