Police confirm kidnap of over 20 persons by bandits in Kaduna attack

Kaduna police command has confirmed the abduction of over 20 persons by bandits in Unguwan Gimbiya in Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Mohammed Jalige, the Police spokesperson in the state, told Channels TV that the attack took place in the early hours of Friday, December 3.

Jalige said the bandits stormed the community at about 1 a.m., killing two people and taking away 20 residents before the arrival of security operatives.

He said;

“A combined team of security operatives have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers with a view to rescuing the kidnapped victims and arresting the criminals.”

In another report, the photos of a nine-year-old boy who was kidnapped alongside his father by bandits from the University of Abuja has been released by Journalist and activist, Omoyele Sowore.

On November 2, 2021, Professor Bassey Ubom and his son, Tete, were kidnapped alongside 10 others from the University staff quarters.

In a post shared on his Facebook page, Sowore who visited the academician over the weekend, said the little boy walked for kilometers like his father and others kidnap victims and was made to drink water from the same pond as cattle.
