Dowen College: Late Sylvester’s father visits Lagos SCIID to report son’s death officially

The father of Sylvester Oromoni junior, the 12-year-old student of Dowen College Lekki who died in controversial circumstances on Tuesday, November 30, after he was allegedly assaulted by his seniors in the school dormitory, today December 8, visited the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID) in Yaba to officially report the death of his son.

Mr Oromoni who was accompanied by some persons believed to be his family members as well as lawyers from Falana and Falana Chambers, arrived at the SCIID office on Wednesday morning.

Upon his arrival, the aggrieved father registered his presence at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CIID, Fayoade Adegoke, before heading to the Homicide Section of the department to write his statement.

His visit comes as authorities at the Lagos State Police Command conclude plan to carry out a post-mortem on late Sylvester’s body in Delta State.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the deceased’s cousin, Perry Oromoni, has taken to social media to alleged that some senior pupils of the college beat him up in his hostel room for refusing to join a cult.

But the school denied the claim, stating that the boy complained of pain in his legs and hip following an injury he sustained while playing football.

The Lagos State Government had shut down the school indefinitely to ensure thorough investigation.
