Manchester United have been hit by a COVID-19 outbreak, according to The Athletic.

Their forthcoming Premier League match against Brentford is now in jeopardy.

The Premier League has been told by United that a “limited number of players and staff have tested positive to the virus.”

The Red Devils were scheduled to play Brentford on Tuesday night, but the current situation suggests that the game may be postponed.

Ralf Rangnick, the manager, was expected to lead the group training session on Sunday, but due to the current scenario, it could not take place as planned.

Individual non-contact outdoor workouts were held for the players.

It is not the first time Manchester United have been affected by the virus, with Dean Henderson and Jesse Lingard both testing positive earlier in the season.
