Gunmen attacked a boat, conveying 14 passengers in Bayelsa State on New Year’s Eve.
The attack occurred on Friday after the boat left Yenagoa for Twon-Brass in Brass Local Government Area of the state.
While the passengers were unhurt in the attack, the gunmen made away with the 115-horsepower Yamaha outboard engine of the boat and dispossessed the passengers of their valuables.
Bayelsa State Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Mr Ogoniba Ipigansi, who confirmed the incident also said a rescue team was dispatched to the scene of the incident.
