Guinea Bissau captain vows they will rather ‘die’ than lose today’s match against the Super Eagles

Rather than lose today’s match against the Super Eagles, Captain of the Guinea Bissau national team, Jonas Azevedo Mendes has vowed that they would prefer to ‘die’ than accept defeat.

He also disclosed how they would ensure victory for their country.
Mendez who is the team’s first-choice goalkeeper said they will be out in full force to battle the Super Eagles for a victory.

Asked if there was any particular player in the Eagles team they were targeting, Mendes said, “we know Nigeria is a good team. It will be a mistake to target any particular player. We are facing all of them with equal attention,” he said.

Raised in Portugal, the goalkeeper has spent most of his playing career in the third tier of Portuguese football.
