IGP deploys new CP to Benue State

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Usman Baba, on Friday ordered the redeployment of a new Commissioners of Police to Benue State.

Mr Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), made this announcement in a statement on Friday.

He identified the newly-posted CP as Tajudeen Abass.

According to the Statement, the posting was due to the recent promotion of two Deputy Inspectors General of Police, six Assistant Inspectors General of Police and 17 CPs by the Police Service Commission.

Abass was a former Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) at Oyo and Ogun States and has served as the Assistant Commissioner of Police, SCID, Delta and also as the Area Commander, Area C, Surulere, Lagos State, amongst others.

The IGP urged him to ensure that he consolidates and improves on the gains of his predecessors, especially in the areas of crime-fighting and public safety.

He enjoined him to ensure that his leadership role in the new areas of assignment, upholds policing virtues of professionalism, respect for rule of law and citizens’ rights.

He added that the posting is with immediate effect.
