JUST IN: Ebonyi Govt declares Fmr Reps member wanted over statement on facebook

Ebonyi State Government on Tuesday declared the former House of Representatives member, Hon. Linus Okorie, who represented Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo federal constituency at the National Assembly wanted for publishing an inciting article against the State on the social media (Facebook).

The article, according to the Government, was alleged to have led to the beheading of an Ebubeagu Security operative (names withheld) in Ikwo Local Government Area of the State.

The House of Representatives member represented his constituency between 2011 to 2019.

This was contained in a joint Press Statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barr. Cletus Afoke.

Recall that Umahi, yesterday, condemned the crisis that erupted in Akaeze, Ivo Local Government Area of the state, which led to loss of lives.

Umahi, who condemned the incident, said those involved in the killings will be made to face the law, irrespective of their positions in his government.

He also condemned the burning of the Akaeze Police Station and houses of the chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Chief Onyebuchi Ogbadu, and those of other goverment personalities in the area

He directed the prompt arrest of those involved in the dastardly act as captured in the video, which has been circulating on the social media, where ax-wielding persons were seen using the weapon to hack the body of their victims, who later died.
