Willie Obiano, the immediate former Governor of Anambra State, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Obiano was apprehended at the Lagos International Airport, only hours after handing over power to Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the state’s new governor.
When he was apprehended by the anti-graft agency, he was believed to be on his way out of the country to the United States.
Obiano will be taken into custody by EFCC agents.
Obiano was apprehended at approximately 8.30 p.m., according to Channels TV, after being on the agency’s watchlist.
