Rate of car theft in Jigawa surges, Police promises to act

Residents of Jigawa State have raised worry over the increasing number of car thefts committed by criminal groups in the state.

According to Daily Post, some citizens expressed their concerns in Dutse, the state capital.

According to one victim of car theft, the speed and expertise utilized by the perpetrators was incredible.

He urged security personnel to step up efforts to apprehend criminals in order to decrease the act in the state.

The State Police Command told newsmen in a statement signed by Spokesman ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam that efforts would be taken to stop the thefts.

According to the statement, the state police command is working to protect the lives and properties of citizens as one of its cardinal duties.

He also advised vehicle owners to act with keen interest, device strategies of securing their vehicles.

“Try and install tracker devices, parking at secured environment, using improvised locally made padlocks, automatic sensor key”

Shiisu noted that the command is doing everything possible to clamp down on perpetrators and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.
