PDP announces date for Anambra State, LG congresses

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday, announced date, for the Anambra State repeat elections.

Hon. Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary of the party, in a statement, said the party had slated Tuesday, March 29, 2022 for the conduct of the repeat Congress in 12 Local Government Areas of the State.

They are expected to elect Local Government Area Executive Officers and one National Delegate per Local Government Area.

According to the statement, the affected LGAs are: Oyi, Aguata, Ihiala, Onitsha south, Onitsha North, Ayamelum, Anambra West, Orumba South, Orumba North, Dunukofia, Anambra East, Ekwusigo.

According to the statement, following the development, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP had approved the nomination of the following party members to serve in the Electoral Committee for the exercise: Chief Emmanuel Ogidi – Chairman, Barr. Neli Ikpe – Member, Prince Yandev Amabai – Member, Chief Emmanuel Ibeshi – Member, Alh. Kabiru Aliyu – Member, Hon. George Daika – Member, Hon. Austin Nwachukwu – Secretary

It said the PDP also scheduled Saturday April 2, 2022, for the conduct of Anambra State Congress to elect new State Executive Officers for the Party in Anambra State.

The party urged all party leaders, critical stakeholders and members in Anambra State to remain united as “we collectively strengthen our great Party for the task ahead.”
