Guardiola speaks on £10m offer to leave Man City

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City's coach

Pep Guardiola has shot down rumors that he will take over as coach of the Brazil national team once he departs Manchester City.

Guardiola is said to have been offered a £10 million per year deal to replace current Selecao coach Tite.

Tite is expected to step down following this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Guardiola has already voiced his desire to play international football, with Brazil widely regarded as his preferred destination.

But the Spaniard quickly moved to shut down the reports.

Speaking ahead of City’s Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday, he said: “I am under contract here. I am so happy here.

“Now is not the moment (to discuss the links). I don’t know where that comes from.”

When asked specifically about the iconic Brazilian side, Guardiola added: “It is a fantastic national team. Brazil is always a strong candidate or the favourite. It always was and it will always be.”
