Bandits attack Niger communities, kill two, displace many

At least two persons have been reportedly shot dead in a fresh attack by rampaging bandits who invaded Kadna and Naknuwape communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Many have also been displaced due to the attack as dozens of residents have fled to evade the killers.

According to Daily Trust, two other persons including a girl were also abducted during the attack that happened around 7pm on Saturday.

Not much is known about the attack as of the time of filing this report as attack was said to be still ongoing around 7pm on Saturday.

Daily Trust quoted a residents to have said the attack began when villagers were breaking their fast.

The spokesperson, Coalition of Shiroro Association, Salis Mohammed Sabo, disclosed that the “terrorists are on rampage in Kadna and Naknuwape, suburbs of Gwada. These communities are less that 5 kilometres away from Gwada town. As I speak with you, the attack is ongoing.”
