Rivers guber aspirant, Dagogo taken to hospital from police custody

Farah Dagogo, a Rivers State gubernatorial aspirant who has been in police custody since last Thursday, has been transported to the hospital.

Dagogo, who was detained on the instructions of the Rivers State Government, is a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship ticket in the state.

He was apprehended a day after the state government proclaimed him wanted on suspicion of disrupting the PDP’s screening of applicants for State Assembly posts in Port Harcourt last Wednesday.

A magistrate court in Port Harcourt had since remanded him in police detention.

According to a statement by his media aide, Ibrahim Lawal, Dagogo complained of stomach and chest complications before he was taken to the hospital by the police where he is now receiving treatment.

The statement Wednesday read, “Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo has been taken to the hospital by the Police. He complained of stomach and chest complications. He is receiving treatment now.

“Update will be given as the situation goes on.”
