Peter Obi in UK to meet top govt officials ahead of presidential primaries

Leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant Peter Obi has arrived at 10 Downing street, United Kingdom’s seat of government, ahead of meeting with top members of the country’s Parliament.

Obi disclosed his arrival at Downing Street on Monday morning on his official Twitter page.

This is coming days before the convention of the main opposition party in Abuja where he’s expected to slug it out with other presidential.

It was not immediately clear why Obi of is visiting London to meet with top British officials. It was also unclear whether or not Prime Minister Boris Johnson will take part in the meeting. What Obi plans to discuss with British officials was also not mentioned.

The former Anambra governor’s profile has soared in recent weeks as calls grow for his choice as the PDP’s flagbearer for next February’s election, with many of his admirers and supporters threatening to work against the party if he doesn’t get the ticket.
