Police arrest 24 thugs linked to 2023 aspirant with guns

At least twenty-four suspected political thugs, have been arrested by the Police in Nasarawa State.

The suspects were nabbed by Keffi Area Command officers at Minki Suites, along Keffi-Akwanga Road on Tuesday.

According to the Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, the suspects were working for a 2023 aspirant.

Adejobi disclosed that the politician contested in the Nasarawa West Senatorial primaries.

The police acted on intelligence after a convoy of seven private vehicles entered the hotel.

Items recovered include eight pump action guns, two locally-made revolver guns, thirty-seven rounds of live cartridges, and four bulletproof vests.

Others are twenty-seven mobile phones, two pairs of vigilante uniforms, five cutlasses, and ten assorted knives and charms.

Adejobi added that the thugs “carry out their heinous acts under the guise of being members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN)”.
