The decomposing remains of a yet-to-be-identified man have been abandoned at the Magboro end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The bloated corpse tucked between the road median was said to be that of a suspected motorcycle thief.

According to PUNCH, a bakery worker, who identified himself simply as Success, claimed that the deceased was a victim of jungle justice.

He said, “Our supplier told me that the deceased was a criminal; he stole a bike from someone at Arepo and when the person raised the alarm, some people ran after him, accosted him and he was killed.”

The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, said it was a police case as the victim was not killed in an accident.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said he was not aware of the incident.

In 2019, the body of a middle-aged man was also discovered by the roadside directly opposite Christopher University, before the Redemption Camp, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
