Ameerah Safiyanu who raised false kidnap alarm in Abuja, finally speaks, apologizes

After fooling everyone with a false alarm that she and 16 other persons including three pregnant women were kidnapped, Ameerah Safiyanu, the young lady who came on Twitter on June 14, has tendered an apology to the public.

Recall that Ameerah had alerted that she and others were kidnapped at gunpoint by armed men in police uniform a few days ago.

However, in a statement by ASP Oduniyi Omotayo, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, the FCT command said Ameerah is currently in its custody.

Following a detailed investigation, the police released a statement last week debunking Ameerah’s claim that she was abducted. The statement said further details will be released later but Ameerah has been found.

In a series of tweets posted this afternoon, Ameerah apologized for misleading the general public, the police, her family, and friends.

”I intentionally took myself out of our house, went to these locations, entered bushes and dehydrated, and starved myself for four days just like that. No kidnapping, nothing at all. I truly apologise and please pray for me. I need it” she wrote
