Reno Omokri replies Ekweremmadu’s attackers, empathize with him

Former Aide to the immediate past President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Reno Omokri has reacted to the social media attack on the immediate past Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremmadu following his allegation of organ harvesting by the UK jury.

In his tweet on Saturday, Omokri, a renowned author explained that “majority of the people that are active on social media are young adults who do not have children. So, they don’t know the lengths to which love for your children can drive you. That is why they are spilling and spreading vitriol against people who are in a state of grief.”

Narrating the ordeal parents pass through to save their children’s life, Mr. Omokri said “if any of my children need organs to save their life, (God forbid), and my wife and I are not a match, I will do anything legally possible to get them a match, including paying a willing adult to donate their organ to them.

“And even that ‘legally’ is qualified. If my child is dying and I can bend the rules to save their life, what would I do? Perhaps I can’t answer that question here.”

Expressing his empathy for Ike Ekweremmadu‘s family, he stressed that ” I empathise greatly with the Ekweremadus and hope for their vindication and continue to wish Ike Ekweremadu well. May God be with them, in Christ’s Name.”

Recall that the former Deputy Senate President, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu were arrested in the UK for allegedly facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploit them and harvest their organs.

The couple were arraigned before a magistrate in a UK court and subsequently denied bail after their not guilty plea.

The couple has been remanded while the matter was adjourned till July 7, 2022 for hearing.
