On Monday, a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kano issued a remand order for 30-year-old Abdullahi Idris, who is accused of sodomizing a 13-year-old boy, to a Correctional Facility pending legal counsel.

Idris, who resides in Kano’s Sheka Baranda Quarters, is accused of kidnapping and committing an unnatural offense.

The police were instructed to return the case file to the Office of the Kano State Director of Public Prosecutions for legal counsel by Chief Magistrate Mustapha Sa’ad-Datti.

The matter was postponed until August 2 for further discussion by Sa’ad-Datti.

Earlier, Ms. Asma’u Ado, the prosecution attorney, informed the court that Idris committed the crime on February 11, 2022, at the Sheka Baranda Quarters in Kano.

Ado alleged that at about 10 p.m, Idris lured the 13-year-old boy into his living room situated in Sheka Baranda Quarters Kano and sodomised him.

The offence, she said, contravenes the provisions of sections 272 and 284 of the Penal Code.

Idris denied committing the offence.
