Why Christians have nothing to fear if Tinubu emerges as president – Keyamo assures

Christians in Nigeria have been told not to be afraid of the emergence of Bola Tinubu, as president in 2023.

Explaining, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment who made the call said the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Tinubu allowed his wife, Oluremi to practice Christianity for about 40 years.

He emphasised that Tinubu even allowed his wife to become a pastor under his roof.

In a series of tweets, Keyamo wrote: “Nigerians & christians in particular, should have NOTHING TO FEAR in respect of a President & Commander-in-Chief (by God’s Grace and the votes of Nigerians, @officialABAT) who allowed his only wife to be a practicing Christian and a Pastor under the same roof for about 40 years!

“So, the APC comes to the table with two highly successful State Chief Executives who did excellently well in their states during their tenures, picked excellent successors (Fashola and Zulum) & a former First Lady and distinguished Senator. It is a case of buy one, get three free.”

Keyamo’s assurance is aimed at dissuading the fear over Tinubu’s decision to settle for a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Tinubu had picked a Borno State Senator, Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

This is contrary to clamour by political stakeholders and analysts that he should pick a northern Christian as his running mate.

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, had said the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket was an Islamization agenda.

He fingered Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State in the plot to Islamize Nigeria.

Lawal warned Tinubu not to allow himself to be converted into an Islamic president if he wins in 2023.
