A senior official of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Kingsley Okorafor, who was kidnapped in the early hours of Saturday has been released.

Okorafor was abducted at his home town at Umuadara Umulogho autonomous community in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State.

The victim was kidnapped while driving home from the wake of the Traditional Ruler of Ndihu autonomous community in Obowo LGA, Innocent Anyanwu, last Friday whose burial was scheduled for Saturday.

According to a community source, the NDDC official was trailed by his kidnappers after he left the vigil to his community where he was abducted, leaving his car at the scene.

It was also gathered that the suspects had established contacts with the victim’s family and placed N10m as ransom for his release.
