Victor Moses, a former Super Eagles winger, will likely need surgery after suffering an Achilles tendon injury during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Ural for Spartak Moscow.

The 31-year-old will miss six months of action following surgery, according to Sparta Moscow.

Moses suffered the injury in the 32nd minute of the fiercely contested match and had to be carried off the field.

On crutches, the former Chelsea player left the stadium.

Moses has scored two goals and recorded two assists in four league appearances for his club this season.

“Spartak midfielder Victor Moses, who was injured in the RPL 4th round match in Yekaterinburg, underwent a medical examination,” reads a statement on the club’s website.

“The Nigerian has been diagnosed with an Achilles tendon injury. The player will have to undergo surgery. It will take about six months to recover from the injury.”
