Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has stated that Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of his players for life due to their close relationship.
Tuchel revealed that he and the former captain of Arsenal have a close relationship.
While they were teammates at Borussia Dortmund in the past, Tuchel coached Aubameyang.
To reunite with Tuchel at Stamford Bridge, Aubameyang has been linked to a summer transfer to Chelsea.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League tie with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Tuchel said, “It was a pleasure. Some players stay your players because you were very close and Auba is one of these players. Even when we played against him with Arsenal, straight away, there was this close bond.”
Asked if Chelsea would sign another forward this summer, Tuchel added, “We could strengthen our squad in depth. It’s one thing that you wish for and it’s another that is possible.
“We are looking for top quality and top personalities.”
